The Way I See it # 275
When I wake up in the morning, I want to know that my family, friends and fans know what I believe in and what I’m all about. That’s what should be important.

-Robert Randolph
To laugh often and much;to win the respect of
intelligent people and the affection of children;to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends;to appeciate beauty; to find the best in others;to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is have succeeded.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Be who you are and say what
you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

- Dr. Suess

My Father

He walks on the edge
His life in someone else’s hands
Like a ocean
With its waves crashing every morsel of sand
Time is slowly ticking
As he takes his last licking
Of his favorite ice cream
He takes the last spoonful
As he tries not to be doubtful
Each day passes by
He paces back and forth
His thoughts in his mind are unclear
As he stands there
Thinking
Wondering
If the end is near
Amide the chaos and the scowls
Will his voice be heard
In a crowd that knows his name well
Will they be relentless
In their actions to create such hell
He must not worry so much
As his daughters instill some luck
In his heart
He knows they will be there
As they know the time will come
For these people to leave their evils undone
All truths will come out
In the end, we will all shout
As we know we have won
This battle
That was left for us to figure out
He will be a changed man
After all this is over
He will not have to think
What day it is
Or what time it is
Or perhaps when his last meal will be
Before he is in surgery
It will be a blessed day
When we all know in our hearts
We have succeeded
And saved his life
In a time of such strife
We will all come together
He will look at us different
And say to us
Hey I’m proud of you guys
As it was you three who
Saved my life
When all I could think about
Was the fight
He will view us in a different light
As we stand there in awe
Of our father’s might
He finally was able to say the words
That had lingered for so long
But never came out
Today was a new day
As he whispered those words
With a smile
We knew it was him
Our father
Who was able to see
That his daughters did not flee
We were all together again
Like a family
